gusapp is a mall-style ecommerce platform being built in Dar es Salaam, Tanzania, by GUSA Limited. This is the privacy notice for gusapptz.com — the website where you can join our entry list ahead of launch.

What we collect when you join the entry list

• Your mobile phone number (Tanzanian, +255)
• Whether you’re interested in gusapp as a shopper or as a vendor
• Your district and ward inside Dar es Salaam
• Your approximate IP address and browser/device info (collected automatically by our server)

How we use it

• To send you a launch invite the day gusapp goes live in your area
• To plan our area-by-area rollout — which districts to open first, where to bring on more vendors, how to design our delivery routes
• To prevent abuse from automated bots and to keep the entry list clean

What we don’t do

• We don’t share or sell your phone number to anyone
• We don’t sign you up to marketing newsletters without your explicit opt-in
• We don’t pass your data to third-party advertisers

How long we keep your data

We keep entry-list records for as long as gusapp is active, or until you ask us to delete them.

Your rights

You can ask us at any time to:

• Show you what data we hold about you
• Correct anything that’s wrong
• Delete your record entirely
• Stop processing your data

Where your data lives

Your data is stored on servers operated by SakuraHost in Tanzania. The hosting environment uses TLS encryption for data in transit and is access-controlled.

Children

gusapp is not directed at children under 13. If you believe a child has joined the entry list, email hello@gusapptz.com and we’ll remove the record.

Tanzanian Data Protection Act 2022

This notice reflects our obligations under the Tanzanian Data Protection Act 2022 and the related regulations issued by the Personal Data Protection Commission. We process your personal data lawfully, fairly and transparently, with consent obtained at the point of submission. The notice also draws on EU GDPR-style structure as a defensive baseline.
